Description:

The LM Tour Systems D 2/1 is a compact 2RU rackmount power distribution unit designed to bring 30-amp, 120/240V split-phase power into touring racks, AV systems, DJ rigs, flypacks, amp racks, and other portable production systems.

Built around the widely available NEMA L14-30 connection, the D 2/1 is an excellent option for applications where traditional three-phase entertainment power may not be available. L14-30 service is commonly found in event venues, banquet facilities, clubs, commercial spaces, and other locations where smaller production systems need access to more power than a collection of standard 15- or 20-amp wall circuits can conveniently provide.

L14-30 Split-Phase Input

Power enters the D 2/1 through a recessed Hubbell HBL2715 L14-30 inlet, supplying two 120V legs, neutral, and ground.

LED indicators at the inlet provide quick visual confirmation that power is present on each leg.

A Hubbell HBL2716 L14-30 output is wired ahead of the branch breakers, allowing the incoming L14-30 feed to be passed through to another compatible distribution device or rack when the application permits.

Two Independently Protected 120V Legs

The incoming split-phase service is divided between two 20-amp hydraulic branch breakers.

Each leg feeds three Hubbell duplex receptacles on the rear panel, providing a total of:

  • 6 duplex receptacles
  • 12 standard Edison outlets
  • 3 duplex receptacles per leg

The branch breakers are sized to protect the 20-amp output circuits rather than simply matching the 30-amp rating of the incoming L14-30 connection.

This gives system designers a convenient way to distribute loads between the two available 120V legs while keeping the entire system contained within a compact rackmount package.

 PowerCON and TRUE1 Locking Outputs

In addition to the Edison receptacles, the D 2/1 includes dedicated locking power outputs for production equipment.

The X leg provides a PowerCON output, while the Y leg provides a Neutrik powerCON TRUE1 output.

These connections are useful for powering compatible rack equipment, accessory panels, rack lighting, or other devices without occupying one of the standard Edison receptacles.

Front Courtesy Power and USB Charging

A front-panel duplex receptacle provides convenient utility power without requiring access to the rear of the rack.

The courtesy outlet also includes USB-A and USB-C charging ports for phones, tablets, test equipment, and other production accessories.

A dedicated 5-amp breaker protects the front courtesy circuit.

Designed for Touring and Integrated AV Systems

The D 2/1 was developed for the same type of systems LM Tour Systems builds every day: compact touring racks and integrated production systems where reliable power distribution, straightforward troubleshooting, and efficient use of rack space are important.

Typical applications include:

  • DJ and mobile production systems
  • Live sound racks
  • Corporate AV systems
  • Video flypacks
  • Amplifier racks
  • Wireless and IEM racks
  • Control and processing racks
  • Small touring systems
  • Event and banquet production
  • Custom integrated AV systems

Rather than requiring three-phase L21-30 service, the D 2/1 allows these systems to take advantage of the more commonly encountered L14-30 split-phase connection.

Built by LM Tour Systems

Each D 2/1 is assembled by LM Tour Systems using professional-grade components including Hubbell power connectors and receptacles, hydraulic branch breakers, Neutrik locking power connections, and a custom aluminum rackmount chassis.

The front panel is constructed from 1/8" brushed aluminum with permanently laser-etched labeling for easy identification in touring and production environments.

Don't forget to add a LM Tour Systems L14-30 custom power cable.

The flexibility of this distro is perfect for users who need to operate systems in venues where 3 phase power isn’t always available. The power input is a standard L14-30 recessed “male” flanged receptacle. This can easily be adapted to be powered by a 14-30R “dryer plug” to be used in smaller venues where 3 phase power is not available. An L14-30 outlet is wired pre-breakers to link multiple distros together. 2 LED lights are located behind the flange on the inlet showing when power is present at the inlet. 2 – 20 amp hydraulic breakers are provided as master switches over the system. The rear of the unit features 6 duplex outlets, wired 3 per phase. A Powercon & True1 outlet are provided allowing locking outputs. The front panel is built from 1/8” brushed aluminum with white laser etched labels. The back box is built from .063” aluminum and is 4.5” deep.
